The Book Release: Moments of Sweetness and Growth
I’ve had some pretty heart opening reflections on my book launch already! The release of True Calling has made me brave. The entire process has called me to action and grown me in unexpected ways and I want to share these reflections on my book launch with you. I have learned that sharing something you’ve created from your heart can leave you feeling very vulnerable indeed. There’s been growth at every turn and I’m happy to say that the release of my first book has already been well worth it, considering all the love and support I’ve received.
I am moved to tears each time a client shows up for a session with my book in their hands, smiling and ready for me to sign their copy. It surprises me that some people have bought it. Sometimes I say, “Oh my goodness! You bought the book? I never expected you to buy it since it’s so specific to my niche and industry!” My clients have shown tremendous support for the work I am putting into the world and I am grateful. The Arrival of True Calling
My mom was with me when my first copy of the book arrived in the mail. She shared my excitement as we opened the book and examined the proof together. I had told her that I was cooking dinner for her (for a change) that night, since she always cooks for everyone! That evening while I cooked, she read my book out loud to me. It was the most heart centering, precious experience to hear her read out loud to me like when I was a child. The most magical part of it was that she was reading MY words back to me, helping me remember why I had written True Calling in the first place.
Over the last few months, I have been very mentally focused on all the logistical aspects of the book launch-the editing, layout, all those necessary action steps that keep me very “in my head”. But when my mom read my own words back to me, I was transported into my heart once again, remembering the love that I have infused into every word in this book! I remembered my passion to help healers succeed and my strong desire to help anyone who sees clients to stay strong, healthy and successful.
Lessons from a Launch Party
When the proof copy arrived, I noticed that small details were not quite as I wanted them. I learned how color choices can look great on a digital proof but might look much darker in print. The cover of the book was ok, but I wasn’t thrilled with it. If I changed the cover, my big stack of author copies might not make it for my first signing event. I stayed up that night wondering what I should do. I asked myself, “Should I just sign off on the copy so I have the books on hand? Or should I wait and make the necessary changes so that I feel one hundred percent satisfied?”
The answer came clear to me the next morning. I realized I hadn’t poured countless hours into my book only to settle for less than a WOW experience. Since I wanted to be completely satisfied, I changed the cover photo colors. My big stack of books didn’t make it to my first book signing party. I laughed to myself when I realized I secretly hoped a lot of people didn’t show up to my launch party since I didn’t have many books yet!
But the night of the book signing ended up being perfect in every way. My friends and clients who came were all so excited for me. We laughed, we hugged and the night was a huge success. Clients and students playfully fought over the few copies that I had and my heart was so happy.
As I walked to my car with a smile on my face after the event, I saw some big news on my phone.True Calling had made it to the #16 spot in the New Releases Best Sellers Massage Category on Amazon. Two days after the release, my first book made it to #1 in the Massage Category! The lesson for me in all of this was to stay true to myself and things will work out. I was so relieved that I hadn’t signed off on a book cover that was not exactly as I wanted. Staying in alignment with my truth allowed the event to flow exactly as it was meant to.
Being Brave Requires Vulnerability
“Be brave. Without bravery, you will never know the world as richly as it longs to be known. Without bravery, your life will remain small-far smaller than you probably wanted your life to be.”-Elizabeth Gilbert
The biggest aha moment in these reflections on my book launch: sharing growth and creativity with the world is scary, but well worth it. I could have just stayed in my healing room, doing what I do best. I could stay small and comfortable but being creative pushes me and stretches me in beneficial ways. This whole process of releasing a book to the world makes me feel vulnerable and powerful at the same time. This book launch also reminded me of how much I love my clients and my former students. The relationships we make when we do healing work are forever, no matter how often we see each other. I’m here for the healers.
I am giving a little piece of my heart to the world with the launch of my first book! My passion is providing career support for healers. I like to lift healing practitioners up with inspiration and provide tools for self-care. My first book, True Calling, was twenty-four years in the making as I forged a career path in the healing arts. Every word in my first career guidebook comes from my deepest desire to help those who serve others.
True Calling started out as a workbook full of action steps and mindset exercises. Then, the book evolved into so much more than that. What began as a career guide became a supportive companion for self-care along with strategies for growing a healthy business of any kind. I wanted this book to be a special gift to anyone who wants to be a healer. Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a legit healer? Check out my article How To Identify A True Healer
A Behind the Scenes Look
This robust workbook provides career support for healers from my twenty-four years of experience. I have been on all sides of the wellness industry from spa owner to massage teacher and I’ve learned from my fair share of mistakes. I have also had a lot of triumphs as a holistic entrepreneur. Now’s the time to share my secrets for success as well as the challenges I have encountered in this profession.
I wrote each chapter like I was talking to someone who desires to create their own business in the healing arts. That was easy to do because I have helped so many of my clients become successful healers over the years. This was truly a labor of love because I have so much passion for helping other gifted healers succeed. Most of this book was written right in my treatment room, where the magic happens.
My inspiration came mostly while working with clients. I would remember something that would give career support for healers because a particular situation with a client would spark my memory. In between clients, I would scribble down notes so that I could remember what I wanted to write later. On occasion, I would hibernate for a few days in an Air B and B, stay in my jammies all day and organize my content. My husband was a huge support in helping me bring the book to reality because he would care for our son and give me windows of uninterrupted time to be creative and focus.
“You can align your professional life with your soul’s purpose. We’re all born with innate healing abilities. These gifts aren’t just for a chosen few who are deemed worthy or talented by something outside of themselves. Healing work is available to anyone who’s up for the challenge. If you feel like you have a calling to help others through the power of touch, this career guidebook will take you through a step by step process of how to thrive and feel good while helping others.”-True Calling, The Successful Hands-On Healer
What I’ve Learned From Writing My First Book
I have wanted to write this book for so long; it’s hard to believe it’s finally real and in print instead of just in my head and heart! I knew it would be a learning experience to publish my first book, but I had no idea what a journey of self-realization the experience would provide for me personally. There’s nothing better to help hone your own craft than to teach others to do what you do. Every second I worked on this book afforded me the opportunity to refine my skills to become a better healer myself. The world needs more healers that are abundant, happy, healthy and successful. My purpose and passion is to support others to bring their best work to the treatment table. I love growing right alongside my fellow healers. Let me know what you think of the book and I hope you find it useful. I have a lot more books that live in my heart, just waiting to be born!
The Challenge of Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energy
We all possess both masculine and feminine energy. Balancing our masculine and feminine aspects can be challenging, but finding the balance of creativity and productivity is essential for well-being. Our body is like a battery with negative (receptive) and positive (outgoing) electrical currents. Taking time to understand how our energy field works makes life easier. Did you know that you have masculine and feminine aspects regardless of your gender or orientation? The left and right sides of your body can tell you a lot about how you use your energy. Polarity Therapy and Chinese medicine teach us how to pay attention to our bodies so that we can bring our energy field into balance. Paying attention to the right and left sides of our bodies assists healing and well-being. Want to learn more?
What’s Your Energy Style?
Where do you see yourself on the spectrum of masculine and feminine energy? Do you tend to be more on the creative, idea forming, big-picture thinking side of things or are you more on the production, hustle, accomplishing goals end of the spectrum? Both qualities are essential for a healthy, balanced life.
We all continuously course-correct to find the middle way in life because we each have our own unique blend of masculine and feminine qualities. Since life is a constant ebb and flow of energy, there is no static, perfect balance of yin and yang, male and female, light and dark. Each aspect must be embraced as we roll with the constant changes of life.
Do you tend to be on the nurturing, creative side of things or the solution-oriented, action-based side of life? You may already incorporate a beautiful balance of yang and yin qualities into your work and personal life. This is a goal that everyone can strive for: knowing when to use force and take action or when to yield and be soft.
Energetic Anatomy of Masculine and Feminine
The right side of the body controls the masculine aspects of our behavior. Body parts located on the right side are energetically responsible for giving, taking action and getting things done with dynamic leadership. The overall state of the organs on our right side have a direct correlation to masculine energy and how we use it. Take a moment to feel what giving and taking action feels like in your life right now. Is it easy or difficult for you to be in a leadership role and get things done? Are you more comfortable giving than receiving? How physically active are you? How does masculine energy feel to you? Notice how these issues are processed in your body.
The left side of the body is responsible for the feminine aspects of our behavior. Feminine energy governs how we nurture ourselves along with our ability to tap into our intuition and creativity. Take a moment to check in. What does nurturing yourself and receiving self-care feel like to you? Is it easy for you to receive care, compliments and gifts? Are you more comfortable receiving or giving? How easy is it for you to be still and tap into your intuition? How often do you slow down and rest?
Your masculine side says, “I’m ready to take action.”
Your feminine side says, “I need to feel this out and tune in to my intuition.”
Find Balance with Internal Check-In
Imagine the energy currents in your body flowing easily, balanced from right to left and left to right. See your body being at ease and complete with both aspects of life: giving and receiving, goal setting and accomplishing tasks, taking action and enjoying rest, movement and stillness. Honor the light and shadow sides of yourself with harmony and equality.
Your inner “Dad” and “Mom” are a part of your whole and healthy self. A healthy human has the perfect marriage of yin and yang within themselves. Each one of us has inner roles of father, mother, husband and wife to play. Our internal husband and wife aspects are here to make our lives work better. Take an assessment of which aspects need developing to make you better at what you do. Do you find yourself resistant to either the masculine or feminine aspects of life? Did the words Dad, Mom, father, mother, husband or wife bring up opportunities for you to go deeper into your own healing process? YOU get to define what your ultimate inner parent and spouse is like. Nothing external can define balance for you. Remember that any form of creation requires both the yin and yang aspects of nature.
Masculine/Feminine Balance is a Journey
In conclusion, I would like to remind you that balancing feminine and masculine energy for effectiveness is an ongoing process. Receiving Polarity Therapy sessions from a Registered Polarity Practitioner is a beneficial way to bring your body into balance. Listen to my latest podcast episode to find out how I work with both sides of my creative process and how I struggle with striking the balance. What exactly is Mercury Retrograde and how does it affect YOU?
Mercury Retrograde affects your business and home life whether you know it or not. Three or four times a year, the planet Mercury speeds past Earth and moves in an unusual manner for about three weeks. Our second Mercury Retrograde of 2019 began on July 7 and will last until July 31. During these periods, communication and technology are greatly affected by these planetary movements.
While it’s true that planetary cycles have an influence on us, Mercury Retrograde gets a bad rap. These times of the year are just cycles of nature, like seasons. If we know how to utilize these periods, there’s nothing to dread. Make the most out of Mercury Retrograde by taking simple steps to stay aware and in tune with the changes.
Retrogrades offer a wonderful opportunity to slow down for self-care activities and reflection. Make the most of this period by purposefully scheduling down time during the next three weeks. July is the perfect time for a restful retrograde, especially if your business slows down because of clients’ summer travel schedules.
The Good News About Mercury Retrograde
The good news is this: YOU get to decide how your retrograde periods go and how you feel throughout the year. Make 2019 the year you strategically plan things differently. You can make the most of challenging times by staying in tune with yourself. Mercury Retrograde is going to work for you this time. Make this planetary influence your ally and work the planetary shifts like a boss. If you’d like to learn more about how Mercury Retrograde might affect things in your world, check out this article.
What to DO during a Retrograde
A good way to remember what to do in a Mercury Retrograde: engage in any activity that starts with the letters RE. For example: rest, relaxation, renewal, retreat, reading, recharging your battery, reorganizing your closets—these are all perfect things to do in a retrograde! Retrogrades provide opportunities to finish those old projects you’ve started and never completed, while being a little gentler and softer with yourself and others.
Make note of when these periods begin and end in your planner so you can prepare wisely.
Highlight the days all the way through each retrograde to remind you to be easy on yourself and understanding of others throughout these weeks. Schedule in self-care activities and healing appointments for these days. Mercury Retrograde is the perfect time to use personal days for meditation, yoga or spiritual retreats. Sure, these three or four times of the year aren’t favorable for some activities but they are perfect for extra self-care, time allotted for finishing up old projects, getting organized and resting.
Mercury Retrograde is Good for Business (If You’re a Healer)
If you’re in the healing and wellness profession, maximize on the business opportunity and income potential of Mercury Retrograde. Educate your clients on the importance of self-care and extra bodywork sessions during these periods. Prepare your clients in advance so that they, too, can benefit from these special times.
The opportunity that Mercury Retrograde provides can be profitable for meditation retreats, therapy practices, spa professionals, self-care educators, coaches, and more. Strategically prepare to serve your clients well during these times of intense stress at work. Remember, Mercury Retrograde can only work for you if you know how to effectively utilize the potential.
What NOT to do during Mercury Retrograde
Mercury retrogrades are not easy times for starting new projects, communicating with others, signing contacts, hustling hard and pushing yourself at work. This doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve anything you want to accomplish during these times because believe me, I’ve done it. It only means that you’ll have a lot more resistance to deal with in order to reach your goals.
You might also miss out on profound opportunities for awareness and growth. I’ve hosted huge seminars and workshops, officiated weddings and launched new projects successfully during retrogrades but not without a lot of unnecessary wear and tear. Let’s just say I’ve proven to myself that I’d rather be in flow with nature from now on. (wink wink)
I don’t dread these times of year at all, and I don’t want you to be afraid of them either. They’re the best times ever for businesses like mine that focus on healing and wellness sessions or retreats. Sure, I might experience technology issues in my healing room with music or WIFI, but I don’t let that throw me because once the real work starts on the table, it’s all good.
Awareness is the secret ingredient to thriving during Retrogrades.
Each Mercury Retrograde period has a unique flavor and lessons depending on what other planets are affected by its movements. Retrogrades will affect you more or less depending on where they are stationed and how that positioning interacts with your own energetic blueprint and personality.
The key is to PAY ATTENTION to how you feel, and make adjustments in your schedule based on your needs at that time. We are not robots or machines that are meant to do the same exact thing every day, every season. Nature doesn’t work this way and we are a part of the natural world.
When we tune in to nature and get back in rhythm with life, things in our lives start to work much better.
You’ve already got one retrograde behind you for this year with two more to go. How are you going to make the most of it? Mercury retrograde is an opportunity to go within and focus on yourself in whatever way nurtures you best. Want some suggestions for ways to take care of yourself that won’t cost you a dime?

What I Learned from Raymon Grace: How to upgrade your thoughts
I spent the last two weekends studying mindset techniques, energy healing and dowsing from a very interesting fellow named Raymon Grace. I sought him out to deepen my understanding of how to change my mental programs and beliefs to accelerate healing. Reprogramming mental patterns to assist the mind/body healing connection is something I have been fascinated with since 1996. That was the year I was introduced to the work of Louise L. Hay. Since then, I’ve put in twenty-three years of focused mindset and it feels like I’ve made some good changes in my mental programming, but there’s more work to be done. Raymon’s workshop revealed a missing piece to the puzzle of why it’s taking me so long to clean up my thoughts. My time learning with Raymon Grace is by no means over. I think I could sit with him in every workshop he offers and uncover more ‘aha moments.’ Here are a few takeaways from these recent weekends of learning. I’m excited to share 5 Simple Ways to Upgrade Your Thoughts, and shift your mindset to create positive outcomes.
“Energy follows thought.” -Albert Einstein
The Healing Power of a Focused Mind
Bernie Siegel once said, “An affirmation is not a denial of your present circumstances but rather a seed you are planting for the future.” This makes sense to me because you can’t plant a seed and expect a mighty oak tree to happen overnight. Our minds are like gardens that will readily accept positive thoughts as quality seeds. We then have to cultivate and weed our minds daily. I have been patiently working in the garden of my mind for two decades. Now I think I might have found the next level of evolving our thoughts: achieving the optimal brainwave state before introducing a new thought pattern (like tilling soil before planting seeds).
The time I have spent with Raymon Grace has been worth more than gold. I respect his authenticity, transparency and freedom. He is unapologetically himself, which is rare and refreshing in the world of self-help and metaphysics. At the beginning of the workshop, he spoke of how programmable humans are during the first seven years of life. We are highly susceptible to suggested beliefs during those formative years because our brains are in a lower brainwave state known as Alpha. If you want to know more about various brainwave states and how to get the most of out of them, here’s a great resource from Scientific American. As we get older, we have to use techniques to access the Alpha brainwave state. This explains why our affirmations and goal setting techniques may not seem to work as well sometimes. We have to take action to create a receptive brain state that will accept new information and upgrade our programming.
Use Alpha Brainwave State to Plant a New Thought Pattern
1-Look UP. Tap into universal intelligence and access Alpha brain state by simply looking up.
I used to do this when I was a kid and I didn’t know why. Think about the placement of billboards or the location of the pulpit in church. We are more easily programmed when we are looking up, so take advantage of this and program yourself with messages of health, prosperity, love, happiness and success. Strategically place healing affirmations and goals where you will look up to read them. Write your goal and place it over a door frame you walk through frequently or on the sun visor in your car, for example.
2-Employ all five senses to achieve Alpha brain state. Visualize something you know well and imagine all five senses engaging with that object.
During class, Raymon Grace gave the example of visualizing a watermelon. This exercise is easy to do. Just imagine holding a watermelon and what the texture and weight feels like in your hand. Now cut the watermelon and look at the layers of color and the colors of the seeds. Take a bite of the watermelon and think of what it tastes like. Listen to the sound of chewing the watermelon and smell it as you take a bite. You have just accessed Alpha brain state. Now you are ready to plant better thoughts into your subconscious mind. Your affirmations, goals and visualizations will have more impact from this state.
3-Train your brain how to think by catching negative or destructive thought patterns as they come up.
Raymon Grace said he visualizes having a bucket of red paint he uses to paint a red X over an undesirable thought as he eliminates it. He said this next step is crucial: after removing the negative thought, do something that makes you feel good immediately. Give yourself a new thought pattern by having a pleasurable experience such as petting your dog or smelling a flower. It is very important to do something that makes you feel good immediately after you eliminate the destructive thought pattern.
4-Never speak with ownership about an illness, dis-ease or physical pain.
For instance, never refer to a headache as “my headache” because the body responds to this and assigns possession to the pain. Once you access Alpha state, affirm that your body deserves love, health, prosperity and fun.
5-Visualize and recreate the past to give your body a new memory of a traumatic incident.
If you can do this exercise out loud with a partner, you can make a new memory that is more powerful for your body. Visualize a moment in your past that you would like to change. Mentally project yourself back in time to the moment before the incident happened. Imagine taking action to do what you wish you could have done. The scenario you create does not have to be realistic, it can be fantasy. You may have a sword or magical powers, whatever you like. Just make the visualization as vivid and detailed as possible to create the outcome you desire in that situation. When you engage in creating this new memory with someone you trust and enjoy, the two of you have created a scene that your body believes to be true, In this way, you have traveled time and changed the past. The more you revisit this story with your friend, the more real the memory becomes to every cell in your body. This technique is an example of how creative visualization creates a healing outcome.
“Wherever you put your thoughts, you put your energy. The universe conforms to your belief system. You have the ability to transform energy with your intent. You have a choice in what you put up with and what you don’t. Think of what you want, not what you don’t want. Thoughts determine your decisions, decisions determine actions, actions determine your future.” -Raymon Grace
You have the ability to create the future you want by monitoring your thoughts.
Try these simple techniques and let me know what works for you. Every one of us has a unique creative style. Tap into the form of mental focus that works best for you. The only way to learn your most effective reprogramming style is to try as many techniques as you can, and see what works. Remember that you have the ability to create the future with your thoughts. I highly recommend taking a workshop with Raymon Grace. The techniques I’m sharing with you do not even scratch the surface of what we covered in the class.
Check out Raymon’s workshop schedule here. I highly recommend his books, online courses and workshops. His methods are practical and effective — and his techniques work.

If you can’t make my LIVE Summer Solstice Ceremony – here are some suggestions for creating your own:
The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, and it happens on Friday, June 21. Since we have twelve hours of sunlight in our part of the world on this powerful day, this is a time for dynamic action and courage. Utilize the power of the Solstice by focusing on your goals and putting them into action.
Ancient civilizations honored the Sun and celebrated the life-sustaining nourishment that comes from light. This is the time of the year to put your dreams in motion and take inspired action. Use the masculine energy of the Sun to help you accomplish your goals and make things happen. Summer Solstice is also a time to celebrate and have fun. Celebrate the power of light with camp fires, music, dancing and fun times with friends.
Ideas for planning your own ceremony
Ceremony is a perfect way to connect with your family and community as you amplify your intention. If you’ve ever been curious as to how to host your own sacred ceremony or ritual, Summer Solstice is the perfect time to take action and do it!
Act of Power Ceremony
Here’s an easy and effective ceremony called the Act of Power. Take some time to think about the most important goal you would like to manifest right now. Set an intention for what you wish to create in your life at this time.
In this ceremony, you will create two shamanic power objects:
- Life Arrow for manifesting
- Death Arrow for releasing
(Don’t let the name scare you, the Death Arrow only represents letting go of blockages.) Items you will need: one small stick, one large stick, cotton string or crochet thread, paper and pen/pencil
Take a walk in the woods and find one small stick and one large stick. The small stick should be thin enough to burn easily. The large stick should be thick enough to be placed in the ground and stay upright.
Your small stick will become your Death Arrow. You will release anything in your life that is holding you back from achieving your goal with this power object.
Your large stick will become your Life Arrow. You will grow and manifest what you most desire with this sacred power tool.
Create a Death Arrow
On one piece of paper, write down any obstacles, habits or limiting thoughts that are holding you back from achieving your goal. After you have written everything that is limiting you, wrap this piece of paper around the small stick and secure the paper to the stick by wrapping cotton string around it, tying the string securely. You have now created a Death Arrow. It is time to say goodbye to the blockages that have been holding you back. Burn your Death Arrow in a safe, fireproof container such as a metal bowl, fire pit or fire place. As you carefully take precautions for safety, watch the arrow burn and visualize releasing obstacles that have held you back from your goal. This effects of this exercise are intensified if you say what you are releasing out loud as the arrow burns.
Create a Life Arrow
Now that you have cleared obstacles from your path, carefully consider what action steps need to be taken in order to accomplish your ultimate goal. Take some time and write down what you are willing to do in order to turn your dream into a reality. With these written action steps, you are making a commitment to yourself and the Universe. This sheet of paper will contain the promise you are making to yourself.
After you have written down your commitments and list of action steps, carefully wrap the piece of paper around your large stick and secure it by wrapping the cotton thread or string around it and tying securely. The thread you use can be multi-colored and beautiful. You can also adorn your Life Arrow with gemstones, shells, and feathers. Make your arrow beautiful and appealing to you but just remember to use natural embellishments, since you are giving your Life Arrow to the Earth.
Make a commitment to yourself, and the Universe.
Take your Life Arrow and plant it into the ground. Place your arrow somewhere you can see it often to be reminded of your goal. As you impregnate the Earth with your hopes and dreams, say out loud, “This is my act of power. I now create _________,” and finish by speaking your goal, as if it is your current reality, while you place your stick in the ground.
The beneficial effects of this ritual are amplified if done in a group, but it can also be done effectively alone. Never underestimate the power of a ritual for one. You can still have a very powerful Summer Solstice Ceremony even if no one else is around to do this exercise with you. Sometimes it’s hard to say our hopes and dreams out loud (even if we’re all alone) but there is so much creative potential in the power of our voice.
There are many ways to manifest intention.
This is just one ceremony suggestion to get you started. There are countless ways to celebrate the Solstice. And there’s no wrong way to do a ceremony or ritual for manifesting and amplifying intention. Just gather a group of trusted friends and discuss what you want to create and how you want your world to be. It can be as simple as that!
All you need is a focused mind and a loving heart to create positive change through ceremony. I’d love to hear about how you create sacred ceremony and ritual. Be creative and make your Solstice Ceremony reflect what’s important to you. Remember to have lots of fun on the longest day of the year!

My passion is helping others find their own callings and unique gifts of service to the world.
My name is Evangeline. Some of you know me as Angela. I am a busy mom, a business owner — and I am a healer. Over the years, many people have said to me, “You have found your true calling.” My passion is helping others find their own callings and unique gifts of service to the world. Throughout my journey as a massage therapist and energy healer, I have had so many conversations with individuals who want to leave behind unfulfilling jobs and create lives that they love.
Whether you’re healing your own life, being a healer at home or growing your professional practice, I’m here for you.
I’ve used Evangeline as my pen name for years… I always loved my birth name, Angela — but wasn’t crazy about my nickname “Angie.” Sometimes, transformation is triggered by and followed by, all sorts of life changes. That is what happened to me. I spent the last several years doing deep self-realization work on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
Your name is a big deal and its impact on your life might surprise you.
After I changed my name, I intuitively decided to check out the numerology on my new name. Sure enough, a huge numerological upgrade was happening for me! My new name has the vibration of 8 which is a very spiritual number (symbol of infinity) along with abundance, prosperity and recognition.
I’d never given much thought to the meaning of names until I was introduced to Numerology, the ancient study of the numerical value in words and names.
Your given name is a possession that’s solely YOURS and it’s been with you from day one, affecting everything you do. Did you know that you carry power and potential in the numerical vibration of your own name? You have a certain destiny and life path number that was given to you when you acquired your name at birth. And you also have the choice of how you are represented in the world by the energy and intention you carry with the name you choose to use. The ancient science that explains all of this is called Numerology.
I’ve also made the effort to simplify my life in order to be more effective at the few things I wanted to do really well. Taking time to get clear has brought profound changes in how I communicate with the world and what I’m passionate about accomplishing while I’m here.
I want to have relationships and build community with people who are interested in making their lives better.
These changes in me are the reason for my new name and the catalyst for writing this blog, producing my podcast and creating my e-courses. I have realized that success in life is all about nurturing relationships — and that’s why I am reaching out and sharing with all of you. I want to have relationships and build community with people who are interested in making their lives better. The things I like to write about and discuss on my podcast are all related to living more intentionally and getting the most out of life.
My philosophy for a happy life is: Heal, Love, Serve.
I enjoy assisting others with unlocking their own healing potential and at the same time creating rewarding careers. I am such an advocate for self-care for every professional. The more self-care we schedule into our lives, the more effective we are at everything we do. But there is a special place in my heart for healers and I love teaching them how to take good care of themselves.
If you are new to my site, welcome to the community. As a thank you for taking the time to get to know me, enjoy these free tips for feeling good right now as a token of gratitude. I hope you find inspiration and support here — no matter where you are on your journey.
Take a moment to imagine how you have felt when Christmas is over in years past. Does this sound familiar to you?
Travel back in time with me for a moment…
The tree has been taken down, ornaments are neatly wrapped away and once again, a new year has begun.
Now that the celebrations have come to an end and it’s back to “busy-ness as usual”, how do you feel?
Are you refreshed and relaxed from time off of your normal work schedule? Did you have meaningful and sacred time with those you love?
If the answer is ‘yes’: congratulations for navigating through countless obligations, stressors and social situations like a boss while maintaining your own well-being!
If your answer is more like, “No, I always feel exhausted and depleted after the holidays! Even though I did so much and tried so hard, I don’t feel like I had a lot of quality time with those I love and I sure could use some more rest”. If this is how you have felt in the past, read on! I’ll share with you the secrets for having the best holiday season every time. This is your year to have the healthiest, happiest season ever.
Holidays are a great opportunity for personal growth and self awareness, if you’re rested and up for the task! Parties, gatherings and time with extended family holds a wealth of opportunities to see how you habitually fall into old patterns with the same people. This time of year can also brings up all our biggest issues and fears, like giving and receiving, family lineage issues (old, inherited destructive patterns) along with issues with time and stress management. Let this be the holiday season that changes it all for you!
This year you can look at certain situations you’ve always dreaded in the past as buried treasure that can help you discover who you truly are, not the habitual creatures we have been conditioned to be. You are radiant and beautiful and this holiday is your time to shine!
Before we go any further toward the holidays, give yourself an internal check-in:
- Ask yourself, “Where did I put my energy over the last holiday season and was that a good investment?”
The attention and time you give to any external activity is an investment and
you only have so much energy to spend, so make a list of where your time, effort and money went over the last holiday season. Is that where you want to spend your time, effort, attention and money again? What did you get out of these energetic investments? What made your heart smile and made you feel warm inside? Make a decision to budget your time and energy in order to create more heartfelt, meaningful moments that are worth the time you put in.
- Take inventory of self-inflicted, unnecessary stressors that are elective and make the choice to let them go…one by one. The people that really love you will love you no matter how much you decorate or cook. And, believe it or not, they probably don’t notice all the little things you do that make you stress out anyway. We all seen the stressed out host or hostess who is all stressed out about having a party, which should be fun, but it’s totally not for her and that makes it not fun for anyone else around her. The whole idea is to come together and build community and celebrate, but when there’s too much stressing about preparations, there’s not a lot of time for enjoyment and there’s certainly not a lot of time for enjoying the company of others.
Look at honest your to-do list. Who made all of these requirements on you? Does it really matter if you get everything on your list done? Does it really make a difference if everything looks perfect in your house or do you really have to cook that much food?
What if your family received a more relaxed and refreshed YOU and some of the decorations didn’t make it up or maybe some take out food was ordered and the real nourishment came from you being fully present and well rested to be with those you love? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to a family dinner or a dinner party with friends and felt like I didn’t get to be with the host or hostess at all, even though that was the person I came to be around! I know you all know the person who invites everyone over because they want all their loved ones to be together, but they run around stressing and distracted the entire evening or they are just too exhausted by the time the event happens to enjoy it themselves! You don’t have to be one of these people who is so tired and depleted by the time the holiday comes, you don’t even enjoy all your efforts.
My religious upbringing helped me with this-we didn’t get to do any holidays or traditions, so we were essentially free without all the have to’s and family obligations at the holidays. We usually went somewhere warm just to get away from it all, but now that I do celebrate the holidays, I’m careful not to let those made up burdens that aren’t real become part of my experience. And even when you don’t grow up being programmed into all the commercialism, wow is it easy to fall into!
Give the example of wanting to buy for my grown stepchildren and my adopted son Austin, there becomes this elective internal pressure of how many gifts and are they good enough and you can feel that push out in the stores, that pressure is there to consume and to try to prove something with material things and I just keep putting the brakes on that when I feel it creeping into me and I say Whoa! I never even had any of this in my life before, so let’s keep it joyful, let’s keep it meaningful, let’s not just buy stuff to be buying something. I love giving gifts from the heart that are well thought out, but it just amazes me how easy it is to fall into a trap of consumerism that’s unauthentic. And also to treat the decorating or festivities as a burden, if you haven’t had enough alone time and rest to be able to enjoy it.
Be present in every moment this holiday season, give yourself permission and freedom to do what you feel in every moment and have the best holiday season ever. This is elective and take it from me, not everybody does it, so if you’re choosing to be a part of something that’s totally not necessary, it better be fun and beneficial to you.
Ask yourself some tough questions
Why am I doing what I’m doing?
Am I on auto pilot, or is there a good reason why I’m using my time and energy this way?
What things could I take off my list to make room for more energy and time to spend with the ones I love?
Am I habitual with how I spend my energy over the holidays and do I keep doing things that don’t give me the desired feeling I want?
So what if you’ve always been the one to cook the family turkey and everyone expects you to do it? If one part of you likes doing it, but you don’t have the energy for it, create a self care strategy and give yourself a break this year.
Accept that disappointing others is inevitable. We humans have a tendency to not live fully present in the moment. When we are living in the future, we create expectations and expectations create disappointment. You can teach those you love that not only do you deserve to do what makes you feel good in each and every moment, they deserve to have the same freedom. Hold a visualization of everyone in your family taking care of themselves, doing what they want to in a very healthy way and imagine how different a family gathering would be with this reality!
When people come together simply because they want to be together and there are no expectations, something amazing happens and one name for it is ‘sangha’. Sure-schedules may get thrown off, certain people we love to see may not show up and there has to be an acceptance that whoever is with you is the right group at that time.
You have free will to create traditions that bring you joy, build your community and strengthen your family. You also have free will to let go of anything that is elective that doesn’t feel good anymore. Time honored traditions should only be honored with the time they deserve. I wish you a happy and healthy holiday with no guilt, no burdens and no made-up stress. Have fun this holiday season and let your family see another side of you-a more playful and refreshed version that knows about self care!
Through ceremony, we learn how to give back. When we sing, we give energy through our voice; when we drum, we allow the earth’s heartbeat to join with our own; when we dance, we bring the energy of the earth and sky together in our bodies and give it out; when we pray, we give energy through our hearts; when we look upon our relations, we give blessings through our eyes. When we put all these activities together, we have a ceremony, one of the most powerful forms of gift-giving we humans possess. When humans participate in ceremony they enter a sacred space. Everything outside of that space shrivels in importance. Time takes on a different dimension. Emotions flow freely. The bodies of the participants become filled with the energy of life, and this energy reaches out and blesses the creation around them. All is made new; everything becomes sacred.

What Makes Ceremony and Ritual Relevant in Our Modern World?
Most of us have had some kind of encounter with group ceremony or ritual by the time we’re adults. At some point in our lives, we’ll experience or witness time honored traditions that bring people together for a collective purpose. These experiences may have been positive or negative for each of us, depending on the situations and people involved. Rites of passage such as weddings, baby christenings, graduations and bar mitzvahs can bring deep feelings of positive change and heartfelt connection or they can be uncomfortably rushed through while tolerating family members with a “let’s get this over with” kind of attitude.
A Story of Two Very Different Kinds of Gatherings
I’ll never forget attending a typical modern baby shower for a colleague and a very a-typical Native American Blessingway ceremony for another pregnant friend in the same week. Even though the purpose of both events was to celebrate the expectant mother and her baby, the contrast of the two gatherings was remarkable. Paying attention to gatherings and ceremonies has taught me a lot about myself and life in general. Here’s what I learned from these two back to back celebrations.
The baby shower for my colleague was a gathering of women who were very distant, disconnected and distracted.
Each woman seemed insecure and competitive as they eyed each other up and down, checking out what the other attendees were wearing, looking at their watches and feigning interests as the expectant mother opened gifts with a forced smile. Have you been to this kind of baby shower before? I bet many of you women out there have experienced a similar event. There were so many unexpressed emotions and unreleased tension in the room that I felt like I was going to suffocate. But I won’t bemoan the plight of the empathic intuitive here because I’ve worked hard to know how to handle whatever energy I find in myself in, wherever I might be.
What really struck me was that I felt very lonely in a crowded room of beautiful women who didn’t know how beautiful they were and didn’t know how to utilize the power and energy of the other amazing women in the room. The mother-to-be opened her presents in a very distracted and hurried way, the entire event seeming uncomfortable and difficult for her. It felt like we were all just trying to get through this baby shower and get on with our day. This feeling of hurried impatience was ironic since we were honoring this woman bringing life into this world. I wanted to feel good about what we were celebrating but feel good vibes were in short supply and I left feeling sad and empty.
Later that same week, I attended a Native American-style Blessingway ceremony for one of my best friends. This amazing woman is very intentional about everything she does and she lives her life on purpose, not conforming to the norms of society. She and her sister had researched celebrations and traditions for honoring expectant mothers from indigenous cultures throughout time. She wanted to do something meaningful with the women in her life before bringing her first child into the world. She and her sister put so much love, thought and intention into how to honor not only the beautiful new life that was coming forth but also to create an opportunity for her, as the expectant mother, to feel fortified by her closest girlfriends and female family members. Her research showed her how time honored traditions held by our indigenous sisters would lift up the expectant mother with strength and support of her friends and family by adorning her, pampering her, making her feel beautiful, honored and capable of undertaking the daunting journey of childbirth. This is when I realized why I had felt so blah when I left that monotonous boring baby shower-there was no sacred ceremony or ritual in the occasion!
Tapping into ancient wisdom of sacred ceremony helped this group of women to connect and build community in a way that the other group of equally wonderful and amazing women had not known how to do. Utilizing rituals that harness our intentions helps us open our hearts to each other in a way that connects us with inclusive power that feels amazing, empowering, alive.
My friend’s sister facilitated the ceremony and guided us through the experience.
The group of women that gathered to celebrate my friend were asked to each bring a simple flower. One at a time, we added our special flower to a vase as we said all the things we appreciate and love about her, creating a gorgeous bouquet for her with so much love infused in it. Then, one by one, as we wrapped string around our wrists, we introduced ourselves and said our mother’s name and grandmothers’ names as far back as we could remember. It went like this, “I am Angela, daughter of Linda, daughter of Christine, daughter of Mary, and on and on. As we named the women in our lineage, we wrapped a long string around our wrist that physically tied us to the entire group. After I brought the women of my lineage into the circle, the woman beside me cut the string for me so I could tie the bracelet of string around my wrist to remember this day and send my friend strength as she gave birth. We then gave the new mama a foot bath with flower petals and painted her nails, adorned her belly with henna tattoos and braided her hair with flowers. We sang songs to the baby inside her, giving her all our wishes and prayers for her life through the sound of our joined voices. As we sang, “May you be joyful, centered and free” to the child in her belly, I felt so connected to all of those women in the room, even though I had never met a lot of them before. In that moment, are hearts were joined and we were a powerful force. The celebration went on for hours. We danced, we sang, we laughed, we ate wonderful food and all of us left better, stronger and enriched for being there, not to mention how fortified the young mama felt to go into a new chapter of her life.
At the time of her delivery, my friend was so empowered each time she glanced at her wrist and felt the connection to all the women who love her and took part in that ritual. In an act of solidarity, we would keep our strings tied on our wrists until the baby arrived. This simple act created a connection between us all and we reinforced this connection with the simple bracelet of string we wore as we left.
Days after this experience, I felt euphoric, floating on happiness, and my heart was smiling. At that time, I realized…this is what intentional, sacred ceremony is all about-the power we have as human beings when we come together for a collective purpose and lift each other up. It wasnt until much later when I fell in love with shamanism and found my heart’s true path of service did I begin to understand the meaning of ceremony.
Why is Ceremony Powerful and Useful?
Because It Brings Us Together and Puts Our Intention to Work
How Intentional Ceremony Becomes Relevant in the Modern World:
- 1- Ceremony gives you time to be undistracted from anything other than yourself or each other.
You can claim sacred space to process important events and issues in your life. Only the people and energy you invite in to your circle are allowed to your ceremony. By doing this, you can create a safe space for deep healing.
- 2- Ceremony is a way to maximize your intention, putting your goals and awareness to work for you.
- 3- Ceremomy is also a powerful way to connect to yourself and/or others thereby cultivating clarity and conscious communication in our relationships. Sometimes it’s hard to see ourselves clearly, much less each other. This lack of clarity makes self care and personal growth difficult. Ceremony gives you a tool to get to know yourself better.
- 4- Instant Empowement. No middle man needed for your ceremony. Want to shift your current situation? Want to get clear on a particular issue? There’s nothing stopping you from turning the tides in a positive direction through the power of ceremomy.
The power that human beings possess when they come together for a collective purpose is not always a beneficial one, but we can see the measurable effects of collective anger and fear playing out before our eyes, giving us proof of the creative potential we all possess when we put our feelings and intentions together and let them build in power. How powerful humans have been with creating a world full of chaos and separation. Those who are interested in positive change and want to create a world of unity, cooperation and equality do not need to fight against these forces, they need only to flex their collective intention muscles just as much as the groups who practice fear and anger collectively do on a regular basis.
Intention, authenticity, community and communication are key components to positive change and this is where ceremony comes in to play.
INTENTION and AUTHENTICITY are the two elements that make any ceremony or ritual relevant and useful. For example, we all know that a churchgoer could be sitting in church while thinking about their grocery list as communion is passed. They could chomp down on a communion wafer and drink from the juice cup or wine glass just as mindlessly as if they were gulping down a TV dinner while watching a reality show. Any ritual can be done mindlessly if you aren’t in the present moment and clear on why you are taking a certain action. But for someone who was present and intentional at church communion, they take that piece of bread and wine and make it something meaningful and life changing. They have the ability to stop everything else in their mind and only focus on this one thing that is sacred to them. They use the objects in the ritual as vehicles to take them somewhere they want to go. In the case of the communion wafer and juice or wine, it could be a profound act of cleansing and atonement, a turn around point of dramatic change, a moment for self reflection, healing and redemption, if they CHOOSE to make it sacred.
Ceremony provides a container for your intention. That “intention container” generates even more power when your intention is shared by others who join you, adding the power of community. This is how ceremony becomes a vehicle for positive change.
In traditional sacred ceremony, there is always a trusted officiant, a gate keeper, who brings sturcture, safety and organization to the event. Indigenous cultures would have a Shaman, Elder or Medicine Person to proceed over the rituals and events of a ceremony. The role of the ceremony facilitator is to confidently hold the space so that attendees can focus on their own internal experience, processing the inner work in a comfortable, safe environment. A capable shaman or facilitator is a trusted mentor who is, in essence, saying, “I’ve got you. Just do what you need to do. Everything else is taken care of.” The capable shaman provides the space for deep work and awareness to happen for the participants. Since he or she is leading the group and holding the space, this is not their time for processing and reflection. Their job is to be there for the attendees of the ceremony and it is not easy work.
Who gets to be a shaman?
This is where my work and message differ from many. I have something special to offer you. You have the ability to be a modern shaman, a true medicine man or woman of your own life. Not like the indigenous cultural traditions where you must be born, chosen or accepted into a special lineage of healers, but one who has taken control of his or her own life and embraces the tremendous responsbility of walking this earth with consciousness. This is the invitation I am extending to you. If it makes your heart light up, lean in a little closer and listen to what I have to say. Although it’s very beneficial to have the wisdom and guidance of someone who is experienced at holding ceremony, it’s not necessary. You can be the leader in bringing your family and friends together in a positive way and you need no experience. You only need an open heart and a sincere intention to bring positive change. Some of the sweetest, most powerful ceremonies I have experienced have been straight from the heart, no experience necessary. My friend facilitated another dear friend’s funeral with the most loving authenticity. Even though she had never been in the role of leading a funeral, the ceremony was perfect because she stayed in her heart and creatively made the occasion a true celebration that reflected her friend’s life. I’m currently working on a course for Shamanic practices for an empowered life that will give you many ideas for how you can hold space for others and bring forth community, connection and collective power. You can do this. The world needs you to lead, be strong and bring people together. And I’m right here to support you every step of the way. You can be the Shaman of your own life.
So, How Do You Do it?
Where do you start? The first thing I recommend is that you create an altar that represents your intentions. An altar is like a battery for prayers and manifestations. An altar is not sacred until you make it special. The objects you carefully place and set aside for a purpose generate power for you because every time you look at them, you’re reminded of what you are bringing into your life. It could be any small table that you adorn in a way that makes you feel good. The key is reminding yourself how you want to feel. We need to be reminded often of what we want versus what we do not want. Clean your table well and anoint it with special essential oils, especially if the table is made of wood. Find a place in your home where you will see it often but set it aside so others realize that this is a special place designated for you or for your family to place sacred objects. Try not to put your altar in an area where people will mistake it for a table and lay car keys or drinks on it. The purpose is to set aside some space as special, just for you or for your family members who also wish to participate. Carefully select the objects for your altar. Make sure they represent something meaningful to you.
That’s the thing about any object that is used in ceremony. It’s all about the intention that we give it because the intention is where the power is, every time. Wedding rings are meaningless if they mean nothing to the two people putting them on. For two people who assign the sacredness of a lifetime commitment to those objects, nothing could be important than those two pieces of jewelry.
This is what makes Shamanism so important and effective even in our modern world. Shamanism works under the principle that the world is what you think it is, therefore what you assign power is where your personal power will be. Power objects used in Shamanic ritual hold no power if they are not used with intention and given meaning. Basically, it doesn’t matter whether you use a candle, a crystal, a picture, a feather, etc. The key is that it means something important to you. Creating one’s own power tools is a great way to infuse an object with your own energy. This is why we make prayer sticks, life arrows, death arrows and medicine bundles in sacred ceremony. They are made by you and they are sacred to you and only you. They are a physical container for your intention, just like a ceremony. As humans, we need something physical to hold onto to manifest our prayers and desires. This is the purpose of power tools and sacred objects for ritual.
The medicine wheel in Native American traditions is simply a metaphor for each aspect of our self: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Each direction represents a part of us that needs to be recognized and worked with, in order to be healthy and whole. You can research indigenous styles of ceremony from all over the world and find a ceremony style that suits you best OR you can make up your own, just like our ancestors did. Those who came before us created ceremony around events, situations and seasons that were important in their lives and you can do the same. I encourage you to research various styles of ceremonies from different cultures and see what resonates with you. Ask yourself what types of rituals would enforce the things that are important to you? What acts of power will strengthen you to create the kind of changes in your life you desire?
An Easy Ceremony To Get You Started
Light a candle to remind you of your intentions. As you light this candle, get clear on all the things inside yourself and in the world you with to transform. Place each of those undesired thoughts, feelings and situations into the flame of the candle as you offer these things you wish to transform to Heavenly Father. Ask your heavenly father to transform and protect you and your world from these things that no longer serve you.
When you feel that you are clear, write down your highest vision for the earth, for yourself, for your entire world. Be clear and specific. Honor your Earth Mother by placing an offering of flowers to her on your altar. Create a life arrow by wrapping your piece of paper with all of your intentions around a stick and plant this stick in the ground. Literally plant your vision into Mother Earth. Spend time outside in nature thinking about how you can take better care of yourself, your body, your planet. Use the power of nature to help you clear negative thoughts. Think and speak what you want to create and see in your world. Pray and meditate outside if possible.
One of my favorite ceremonies is the Native American giveaway ceremony. This beautiful gift- giving celebration could be done any time you want to bring change to your life or create a shift. Many times it is practiced during one of the two Solstice times of the year (Summer or Winter) because of the great power of these seasonal shifts. Other beneficial times for a Give-away ceremony could be the New Moon or Full Moon time of every month. You can gather a few friends or family together and have a Giveaway ceremony anytime you like.
Here’s how to observe this very simple ceremony:
Pick an object that represents something that you want to grow or attract more of into your life. This might be an object that represents health, love, financial abundance, career success, fertility, you name it. Give this object to the earth by burying it in the ground or in a bowl of dirt you have in your house, if you’re doing the ceremony inside. By participating in this act of power, you are literally planting your dreams. The object you plant might be a business card for growing career success, a wedding photo for growing the strength of your marriage or a dollar bill for growing financial abundance. Whatever holds power for you in the act is the right object to “plant”. It’s always recommended to take something from nature that represents what you want to create like a leaf or a flower and assign your intention to this object as you plant it. This is what I recommend doing because in this way, we leave no trace and tread lightly on this earth with respect.
Pick another object that symbolizes what you would like to release or purify in your life. Make sure this object can be burned in fire or cleansed in water and release it to one of these elements. This works great indoors if you have a fireplace or outiside with a fire pit. If you don’t have a safe way to burn your object, you can always use a bowl of water for the offering.
There’s no wrong way to do ceremony. I’m only giving you a few ideas to get you started. The more creative you are, the more meaningful the rituals will be for you.
Any Act Can Be Sacred
I watch my mother while she attends her religious conventions and I appreciate her devoted attention, reverence and presence at those times. I also see her fellow church members doing a lot of daydreaming, talking, getting up and down a million times and just waiting for it to be over. The choice is always there for us to savor the sacredness of each moment or let life pass us by, staying in the mundane.
Building Community Through Ceremony
Community is vital to the health and happiness of human beings. With the technological advancements of our modern world where we can survive while isolated from others, we have to make a conscious choice and expend effort to have community. Ceremony gives each of us an opportunity to be seen and heard while we truly see and hear others in an authentic way. Setting up a sacred circle provides a judgement free zone where you can truly be free to express, create, heal and worship in the way you feel is right for you, without criticism. Sacred ceremony allows the participants to “make a joyful noise” to their Creator, to drum, sing, dance, chant or write their prayers. This gives a sense of freedom and connection at the same time. Coming together in such a vulnerable, exposed way may be scary for some who hide behind machines to communicate, but taking off the masks and personas that we utilize in our day to day life and coming to a ritual in a real and true way to connect with others and nature has immeasurable healing potential for our lives.
Ceremony Provides Clarity and Communication
In order to bring your true authentic self to a ceremonial circle, you must know what it means to be real and self aware. Sacred ceremony helps you attain clarity on who you are so that you can be your true self. No one can be clear on what they wish to create in this world if they have not found out who they are, what they’re afraid of, what their life means and why they’re here. Through this profound work, many remember their sacred dreams they once had as a child that have been locked deep inside them due to the abuse we’ve all experienced in different ways. Sacred ceremony gives us way to communicate in a clear, honest and respectful way. In a ceremonial circle, everyone is equal and each individual has a contribution and voice.
The clarity that comes from ceremony allows us to communicate with:
A) first and foremost, ourselves. We cannot be effective in life until we know ourselves. This is scary for many of us, the scariest part of self realization work, meditation, shamanism, etc. is spending time with ourselves.
B) God/Source/Creator. Connecting to a higher power and understanding that we are not alone in the universe and that we are interconnected to the web of life. When we quiet our minds and pay attention during sacred ceremony, time is different and we can feel our place in the universe, a sense of belonging.
C) other human beings. We need each other far more than we realize. The problem with how isolated our lives have become is that we’re lonely in a crowd. Ceremony can solve this problem because it’s heart opening and true honesty that brings a ritual alive and makes it effective and relevant.
D) Lastly, ceremony connects us with elements of nature. Nature is what we are made of and we can find our way back to ourselves through this powerful connection.
Conscious Ceremony Is Inclusive
This work is all about freedom, not rules and restrictions. Sacred ceremony encourages freedom of thought and belief, honoring what is important to you personally, not based on religious beliefs or ideas that have come previously from someone else. Sacred ritual or ceremony at it’s best allows you to look closely at what you believe and why, seeing clearly where you have put fences and limitations around your mind. Ceremony welcomes you to create love and beauty where those two things are absent and enhance love and beauty where you can find them. It’s all about finding the meaning and growth in the difficult and scary parts of being human, transforming ugliness into beauty and fear into effective power.
Our work will have a much higher focus of healing and empowerment than our current events-we are taking our hearts and minds to the next level to be more effective for ourselves, our families, our communities and our planet. Please join me in ritual any way you like-as long as it’s all about getting clear of what you want to release, creating what you want and connecting to each other with respect, authenticity and love.
What’s the difference between ceremony and ritual?
You can absolutely make a ceremony for yourself, but a ritual is probably the more appropriate term for not celebrating a shared collective purpose with like minded individuals. But don’t hold back from creating something sacred if no one else around you is interested. You are more powerful than you might think! Rituals for one are powerful, too.
I hope this information sparks you to create positive change in your life with ceremony. Be creative and have fun with this information. Do something different and meaningful with your friends and family. I am excited to hear how it goes for you so please leave a comment and let me know!
